I'm always looking,
For someone to blame,
Give me a name, give me a name.
Could be some guy,
Could be some dame,
There's gotta be someone,
Who I can blame,
Give me a name, give me a name.
Doesn't matter who,
To me it's the same,
Give me a name, give me a name.
Someone well-known,
Who I can defame,
Or someone unknown,
I've no sense of shame,
Give me a name, give me a name.
I'll figure out some way,
My innocence to proclaim,
Give me a name, give me a name.
Some call me a genius,
Others insane,
Just give me a name, give me a name.
It's not about facts,
It's all about the frame,
Give me a name, give me a name.
What the backstory to this one?
ReplyDeleteIn a word. Trump. After the indictment this week. Looking for anyone to blame for his obvious misconduct. Reminded me of his famous line in the debate ‘Gimme a name’ when he was asked by Chris Wallace if he would denounce white supremacy groups, and he said ‘stand back and stand by’ (when what he really meant was stand down, I think). Of course politicians love playing the blame game. Blaming is akin to breathing for them. And then again, we all do it, sometimes.
DeleteOy, Trump. Nebech.
