There is love everywhere,
It's like the air we breathe.
Don't look very far,
It's like the flowers and the trees.
It comes to you in silence,
It comes without fanfare.
It comes to you when life,
Is more than you can bear.
It comes to you from friends,
It comes to you in song.
It comes to you in memory,
Of someone who is gone.
It comes to you in whispers,
It comes in soothing tones.
It comes when you're together,
It comes when you're alone.
Love is everywhere,
Love is everywhere,
Believe me when I say,
Love is everywhere.
It's not rare as a diamond,
It's not precious as gold.
You don't have to go digging,
In some deep dark hole.
Just open your eyes,
Take a deep breath.
Feel it in your bones,
Feel it in your chest.
Love is everywhere,
Love is everywhere,
Believe me when I say,
Love is everywhere.
Believe me when I say,
It won't hurt a bit.
The secret to finding love:
It comes if you allow it.
Love is everywhere,
Love is everywhere,
Believe me when I say,
Love is everywhere.
A song that is very easy to listen to … both the music and the words. The song becomes a kind of mantra at the end. And is that you singing background vocals and harmonizing with yourself?
ReplyDeleteIt Is. Playing with myself again (in a manner of speaking). I think of this song as my attempt at a Burt Bacharach/Hal David type song. My favourite chord in pop music, it turns out, is a B flat major 7th. Don't ask me why, it's a mystery, but so many of my favourite songs have that chord (think Wichita Lineman), and I've never been able to write a song that uses it. Well I finally did. And like like a Bacharach composition I had to change keys for the chorus. Bacharach did that all the time, which gave his songs unique and strange appeal.
