Great short poem -- funny and poignant! Reminds me a little of William Carlos Williams. Also love the title.
Not far off. Wrote it after reading from a book of Jack Kerouac’s haikus. Did you know he wrote haiku? I didn’t. In truth I didn’t find them so great.

Yes, I knew Kerouac wrote haikus … quite a few, and was pretty good at it. Part of the Beats’ fascination with all things “Eastern”.
