Body I have trusted
you my whole life
I was never more
than an apprentice
of pleasure and pain
of fight and flight
I took you
for granted
as you grew strong
without asking
as you translated
the world for me;
you will
betray me body
and I can't
blame you.

Good poem! I've been feeling similar feelings about my own body these days. This poem reminds me a lot of one of Pablo Neruda's Odes. See Lion of Poetry Episode 9 - Pablo Neruda - https://youtu.be/gbVZ1dg59h0. (After reading the title, though, I thought for sure that the poem was going to be about Trump.)
