A giant wave is coming,
There's a lighthouse on the shore,
There's a storm out in the ocean,
You better bar the door.
Whatever you were doing,
Best just to drop it,
A giant wave is coming,
And there's no way to stop it.
The clouds are getting thicker,
The sky is low and heavy,
If you don't prepare yourself,
For sure you won't be ready.
The rain comes down in needles,
The wind is twisting fierce,
My body's cold and aching,
My mind is flood with fear.
A giant wave is coming,
There's a lighthouse on the shore,
There's a storm out in the ocean,
You better bar the door.
Whatever you were doing,
Best just to drop it,
A giant wave is coming,
And there's no way to stop it.
I tried my best to warn you,
But you're not one to listen,
A whisper becomes a scream,
When you can't take a decision.
It's a force of nature,
It's a revolution,
A giant wave is coming,
To give us absolution.
A giant wave is coming,
There's a lighthouse on the shore,
There's a storm out in the ocean,
You better bar the door.
Whatever you were doing,
Best just to drop it,
A giant wave is coming,
And there's no way to stop it.
You tried to make a difference,
You want to see some change,
A giant wave is coming,
To wash away the pain.
Today is just another day,
Another day's ahead,
A giant wave is coming,
And soon we'll all be dead.
A giant wave is coming,
There's a lighthouse on the shore,
There's a storm out in the ocean,
You better bar the door.
Whatever you were doing,
Best just to drop it,
A giant wave is coming,
And there's no way to stop it.

This one really hits the kishkas. It looks like you posted this on Friday, not knowing what was going to transpire on Saturday. I would have lauded this as a terrific Dylanesque song in any case (complete with harmonica solo) and excellent lyrics, but given the events that have transpired in Israel, the song is eerily prophetic. A giant wave indeed.
Please excuse me while I regain the use of my kishkas.
Yup. Written the week before. It certainly has a newly disturbing resonance after the events of the weekend. Obviously that wasn't intended. On the other hand, I’ve been feeling like something major has been in the air for a while. A paradigmatic climatic shift. Physical and spiritual. It felt like we were / are on the edge of something big. And unfortunately that means a major price will be paid to get us there.
