Hate Dies

Hate dies

with the hater,

but love

goes on

without you.

Love is the

law of going on.

I think you might have something here, maybe, but I wonder if it is empirically true. Does hate really die when the hater dies? Doesn't hate -- like love -- also live on from generation to generation, handed down from parent to child? Isn't this what perpetuates the hate? Prejudices, racism, dehumanization, justifications for violence ... where are these learned if not at the family dinner table? Or, on second thought, maybe these are learned nowadays in our colleges and universities, hehe!

Can we overcome hate by getting rid of all the haters? Not sure how that works.

As usual I never really know what I’m trying to say, and I rely on you to help me figure it out. It came from a powerful feeling that swept over me, and I think you touch on hit. Love is a power, hate is a learned disposition. We are born with the power of love but we must be taught to hate.

Glad to be of assistance! And three cheers for those moments when powerful feelings sweep over us! At least three cheers, if not more!
