Little hitler

CLICK HERE TO HEAR AUTHOR READ

Nature doesn't duplicate

copy

repeat

recreate

it speaks in variation

difference

dissimilarity

modification

looking at the tree

the leaves

seem exactly the same

the squirrels playing

on the branch of the tree

seem exactly the same

every impulse

to see them

as exactly the same

is your little hitler

peeking out

from the shadow.

Couldn't help thinking of Elvis Costello at first. But this poem has a different message.

Hitler was the master of painting all of us with the same brush. Here you are celebrating individuality. Nuance. The Devil is decidedly NOT in the details!

I like the very subtle rhymes. And I think it's called hyperbole ...
