There was one who said that she felt lonely,
There was one who begged me to come home,
There was one who told me that she loved me,
And I told her she was not alone, she was not alone.
There are times things just don't seem right,
There are times you feel it in your bones,
And you know there's something that she's hiding,
When she speaks you hear it in her tone.
In her eyes I saw what she was thinking,
In her eyes I saw she wasn't true,
That was when I felt my heart was sinking,
I could tell she saw just what I knew, saw just what I knew.
There was one who said that she felt lonely,
There was one who begged me to come home,
There was one who told me that she loved me,
And I told her she was not alone.

Nice twist on the classic theme of love and betrayal. Not "alone" has a double meaning, as I understand it ... she's not alone (i.e., she's with someone else) and she's not alone in her feelings of estrangement (i.e., he also feels alone and lonely). The lyrics, in general, have a nice, easy flow.
The instrumentation is also quite good. I like the guitar work.
Overall, it's a pretty good song. Your first collaboration with Moss?
You really pick up on everything. All the subtleties, double meanings etc. it’s very affirming for me. So thank you. This is my second collaboration with Moss. The first was last summer, a song called No More Room. That one we wrote the music together and I wrote the words, from a jam session. This time we collaborated at a distance. He sent me the melody by iPhone, with a title. I added a guitar accompaniment, and wrote the words based on his title. Very rough and dirty. But we’re having fun. Incidentally Annetta and drove to Burlington Vermont last night to see Matisyahu. What a show!
